Wedding on Wednesday

Rosalie and David are getting married tomorrow (Wednesday).

I finally managed to find a card that does not include phrases like 'wishing you
long life and happiness'.

I'll be going up to Reading to see the family. It may even, fingers crossed, be
a happy occasion. Rosalie and David are both pretty special people. I have an
ever-increasing admiration for David. He has the gift of making other people
feel happy. When I phone, he sounds genuninely pleased to hear from me -
speaking to him, I understand why when writing radio drama you can put 'smile'
in the instructions. You can't see the smile on radio, but the voice sounds
different when you smile. I can hear David smiling down the phone.

A man who can make you smile when the woman you both love is dying - that's
someone special. I'm sure one of the reasons Rosalie is still able to smile is
David.

That's all good news. I'm pleased for you all.

I'm catching up, replying to emails tonight.

David does sound like a very special person. I hope there will be more moments of happiness than sadness for everyone involved tomorrow.
