It's a hot day, but we're getting things done. I'm gardening, clearing up the parts of the rockery that have already flowered, and exalted_mugwump is painting exterior woodwork and clearing the guttering.

We're both on an indoor break at the moment to cool down. (waveney is working in Southampton today)

I didn't even get an interview for the teaching assistant job...

However, inspired by you_say_potato, I've added my name to the local queue for an allottment. I'm number 17, so I suspect I may have to wait for a couple of years...

That's excellent news! If I can do it anyone can. Number 17 doesn't sound very good though.
