Feeling drained
I'm feeling mentally and physically drained this week.
I've got a sore throat - it isn't too bad as long as I don't talk very much. However, if I don't sip milk at regular intervals to coat it, I'll get an uncontrollable cough that will only stop when I sprint and grab a drink. I sprint very fast when this happens - I know from long experience that coughing will make the voice far worse.
Corfe Mullen is in great danger of losing our bus service. Not just a cut-back, but the entire service, leaving me half an hour's walk from Broadstone and pretty well cut off entirely from Poole unless the weather is good enough to cycle there and back. (the council are trying to sort something out, but the bus company want £40,000 a year to keep the service going. As Corfe Mullen has 80,000 passenger journeys a year, there's a lot of us who need that service)
Just to add to the fun, the same edition of the local paper tells us that we stand to lose our library. The next nearest library is in Broadstone...
And they're planning to build an extra 700 houses in the village.
It's difficult to find the energy to protest about everything at once.
