Why do people hate saving money?
My mum phones her children every Sunday evening. Has done for ever.
My sister has just moved to London and hasn't got a landline yet. My mum says she can't phone her mobile, because it's too expensive. I tell her that if she uses my phone provider (no change of line rental, keep your BT number and service, no monthly cost) she can phone my sister for 2p a minute at weekends.
"You told me that before," she says crossly.
So WHY in the name of heaven is she so resistant about actually doing something that takes at most 10 mins of effort, would allow her to phone her daughter, and, incidentally, would also slash her phone costs when phoning my brother in Canada! (I can phone places like Australia for half a penny a minute)
