Favourite inventions

My two favourite inventions are central heating and telephones.

I keep the central heating set low and wear a lot of warm clothes, but I'd really really hate to be without it.

Phones help me keep in contact with family when they're too far away to see in person. To quote the Doctor 'fantastic!'.

Phone calls, thank heaven, are cheap. At least, they are now. I've got a much better phone company than I used to. Even calling Australia is affordable these days. (it's lack of voice rather than lack of cash that is the limting factor)
