Charities Aid Foundation

The Charities Aid Foundation http://www.cafonline.org/individual/default.cfm is a useful way of giving money to charity while having the tax reclaimed. It's not quite as essential as it used to be now that most charities are clued into gift aid, but it's still a very handy way of being able to give anonymously to charity while still increasing the value of your gift by having the tax reclaimed.

They're currently offering to give £25 to a charity of my choice if I can persuade anyone else to join, and as I think it offeres a useful service in any case, I'm more than happy to tout for them.

If anyone is interested in joining (commits you to nothing more than giving a tenner a month or £100 up front - which you than then specify going to any registered charity you like) then please give me your e-mail address and I'll send you an invitation and my noinated charity will thank you. (It'll be something wildlife related)

(I used to find CAF cheques a very useful way of donating cash to people who claimed to be collecting for particular charities and whom I wasn't totally sure of - like kids carol singing.)
