Paypal can't read...

Paypal say:

"Enter your name exactly as it appears on your bank account statement. For example, if your name is James Patrick Smith, and your bank account is in the name of 'J. P. Smith', you would need to enter 'J. P.' as your first name."

But if you follow their written example and input your initials as J.E.L. (as it says on my cheque book), then Paypal reject it because it contains a full stop! They won't accept an & either and our joint account name contains one of those too.

It's definitely the full stop and not the absence of space after the full stop that's causing trouble? If it's rejecting ampersands, you're probably right, it's just that I immediately noticed the initials in the example were spaced and yours weren't.

You've not been having a good day, have you?

When you're feeling less stressed, go here and add it to your favourites: http://www.noradsanta.org/

It won't come onstream until after Thanksgiving (or it usually doesn't), but it's well worth waiting for ...

Yes, it's the full stop that does it. Omit it. It is not checked electronically.
