Living with sciatica
Sorry for hardly ever posting these days.
When the sciatica is really bad, I can't. And when it's not quite so bad, I'm trying frantically to do all the things that need brain cells.
Sorting out a load of stuff for the Allotment Society - we're in the process of changing from the allotments being run by the Council, to being run by the allotment association. It's the right way to go, but there's a lot of stuff to sort out on the way.
I'm also trying to organise maypole and longsword teaching in a local school in preparation for the folk festival.
I'm co-GM for an online RPG and running two major NPC factions - which is actually the easiest task most of the time as we use Discord and the NPCs simply respond when I'm not hurting too much. But the turn reports every other Saturday are very time-consuming - which is why the game works best with two GMs. Luke and I both catch each other's mistakes.
Though we both missed one this time around. Luckily it was fixable.
The game is fascinating in the way it is developing, but I'll spare the details unless asked -other people's RPGs are rarely of major interest to anyone outside the game!
I morris dance and sword dance when I'm able, and do my best at playing the melodeon for the other dancers when I'm not able to dance myself.
Without Richard, life would be very difficult. He takes over all the dishwashing and laundry, etc when I'm in too much pain to do stuff.
I actually had two virtually pain free days this week, caught up on a batch of paperwork, drew up a plan for the allotments, and managed to dance an actual jig. Morris jigs need complicated footwork and high energy...
Here's the dance I'm trying to learn - helpfully filmed from the rear so you don't have to mirror the footwork
