Morris Dancing! How wonderful! I used to do fighting practice with the SCA and one night, my friend and I took a break and wandered the university grounds. We saw a Morris Dance club rehearsal and loved watching - the tinkling bells, the handkerchiefs, how gentle... we got chatting with one of the dancers, who explained that it was perfectly safe...well, yes, one of their members had broken a finger from an accident with a stick, but...

We looked at each other and went back to our practice, hitting each other with rattan swords - through armour, and on shields... (Grin). But lovely to watch!
