Conrunner

Anyone want my membership for Conrunner?

I'm not sure I want to go to this one. I suspect it'll end up with a lot of Worldcon stuff and I'm trying to stay out of that loop - I need a break from conrunning for a while.

Since it's in my native city, I've got very little excuse for not going to ConRunner, so I might well take you up on that. I won't be staying at the hotel, though, since I only live ten mins up the road.

Almost a shame, though, I was hoping to pick your brain about conrunning for my own convention project, but I can understand needing a break from all the stress involved.

You're more than welcome to pick my brains any time. In fact I'm hoping to make it up to Sheffield sometime in the next few months.

There's a ZZ9 slouch in Sheffield 23 January. That might be a good excuse to head north if it fits in well with my family.

If you want the membership, just say so.

How useful / interesting do you think this would be for someone running non-SF but community / non-profit cons?

Varies. There will certainly be some useful stuff about hotel negotiations for example, but I would ask the organisers how much focus there will be on Worldcon this time around. (The UK Worldcon bid will launch next Easter)
