Tom Lehrer request
I'm planning on doing a poi routine at Redemption (assuming the shoulder pain improves again, but cons tend to help overall as I'm away from the computer). I'm using the Tom Lehrer song "We'll all go together when we go". However, I've just discovered a much better version of the song on You Tube than the one I have on CD. It's far better for the poi because it misses out several lines that he must have added later - and those happen to be the lines that are really messing up the poi routine.
I know someone tried to tell me once how to get songs from You Tube into MP3 format (at least I seem to recall someone trying), but I'm too sore right now to try and find where I filed the notes. (WMA would probably be okay too, but I can't remember if tech are okay with it)
Can any nice person please convert it for me? added Thanks <lj user=makyo>

FYI, Firefox Download Helper extension -> avidemux.
<< WMA would probably be okay too >>
NO. No no no no NO NO NO NO *NO* **NO**!!!!!!
It's quite simple.
WMA == MICROSOFT == PROPRIETARY == CLOSED == **EEEEEEVILLLL** !!!!
(er, ok, so mp3 encoding is patent encumbered, but its container format is universally readable and doesn't support DRM infection)

If tech is micavity then I think he'd probably prefer mp3.

What formats can Tech handle?
We'll be able to accept the following formats:
* Physical media:
o Okay: CD, DVD, USB drive
o Not okay: Cassette Tape, Record, Blu-Ray, HD
* Media formats:
o Okay: mp3, wav, mp4, avi
* Document formats:
o Okay: ppt, doc, xls, pdf
Essentially, if a relatively modern Microsoft Windows PC can handle it, we can probably deal with it. However, if in doubt, please check with us in advance.
