I'm heading up there for a Redemption committee meeting in May, and I'm pretty skint right now, so would prefer to stay with a friend rather than in a hotel if possible.
Excellent. Literally any time would be fine. You could come up the night before, or on the day at whatever time suits. I'll meet you at the station. I think the meeting is 2.30? I was wondering whether to invite everyone round for a meal that evening?
I was musing on the possibility of a meal on the Saturday evening, on the basis that the hotel's just around the corner from a bucketload of restaurants.
We could put you up (perhaps it would have to be on a sofa, if watervole is here on Friday night too).
Either option for an evening meal is fine with me, though if I'm at the meeting I won't be able to get food ready in advance of course, so a restaurant would be more convenient/speedy. But I'd also be happy to get something together at home.
Both ideas for meals work for me. (I find home cooking to be every bit as good as restaurants.)
I think I'll almost certainly travel on the Friday so that I'm not doing long journeys two days in succession. Up Friday and back Sunday makes good sense.
*Blush* That's very kind - I'm already booked into a hotel, though.
(I realised after I posted that it could be read that way, but I was in the middle of cooking dinner when I thought of that, and it since slipped my mind.)
I'm going to be arriving early by quite a few hours, because it saves me about £30 on the rail ticket, but if you can suggest interesting places to visit, I'll simply go and take a look around Coventry and meet up with you at a time/place you suggest.

It'll be wonderful to spend some time with you. I don't see you nearly often enough.
When are good times to arrive/depart? (in general terms - I'll then see what cheap tickets are available and tweak around the times)

What's a sensible time to arrive Friday?
