Jason Carter just signed up for Redemption

Pleased to say that Jason Carter has accepted our invitation to come to
Redemption http://www.smof.com/redemption in February.

Good news on a day when I'm still recovering from the cold that has haunted me
ever since the end of connotations.

There's a strong chance that we'll be starting an LJ for Redemption soon, as
we've a lot of members on LJ and it'll be an additional place to discuss
programme items.

The face is vaguely familiar - I'm hopeless, at least for someone who's going to Redemption. I saw about three episodes of Babylon 5 and I don't think he was in any of them.

I liked what I saw, but not well enough to make a date to watch it on any kind of regular basis. People I know raved over it, but I think that just gave me unreally high expectations - they were obviously more interested in those characters than I could make myself be.

Cider works wonders to keep my voice going. Virtually the only time I drink at conventions is when I'm singing. It relaxes the throat muscles or something.
I'll get that filk typed up once I'm back to normal.

I'm also a TJ fan, but mostly for his work as a historian rather than a python (Cleese and Palin were my favourite pythons). Jones' study of the [possible] murder of Chaucer was a rivetting read, if anything even better than his monograph on the Knight in the Canterbury Tales.

That's two more than I've seen. I kept catching the last five minutes of it - usual problem of "Only children and unemployed morons living with their parents watch sf, so we'll put it on at six when adults are still getting home from work." Eventually I decided that even if I made the effort to remember to set the video *and* watch it (my VCR has watched a lot of shows on my behalf....), I wasn't going to work out what the story arc was, and gave up.
