I hate all spam, but I hate some spam more than others.

I particularly hate spam that tries to look as though it comes from real people, especially when the random names that they chance upon are those of people who were important to me.

I've just deleted (unread, of course) one that used my late sister's name...

I don't normally subscribe to the "all corporations are evil" line of thought. Instances like these make you think, though.

I really don't understand why there's so much spam that comes from people in the U.S.

Spam frequently induces rage. The US has a large number of people who own guns. And it has a large enough population that even tiny fragments of said population amount to lotsapeople. Some of whom will be complete whackos. Eventually, these disparate points will come together dramatically.

But in the meantime, *hug*.
