Wimborne Folk Festival

Had an excellent weekend at the folk festival.  The sun shone, the dancers danced and a great time was had by all.

Richard and I collected as usual.  I gather one of the morris teams did really well and filled two tins (which is good - most teams don't get very much in their tins at all).  I did five tins, but Richard ended up with eight or nine.  But then I took time out to hit a sing around for about an hour and occasionall did a wee bit of shopping.

And I had several opportunities to play with poi.  At one point, we had what was almost a poi jam session in the square with several of us swopping tricks and teaching a couple of kids as well.  (I can now do a helicopter).  Later on, I joined an outdoor music session and had fun doing poi in time with the music.  It's quite fun altering the figures to fit the tunes.

I'll be doing a poi workshop at Year of the Teledu and I've bought a few spare sets of poi for anyone who wants a go and doesn't have any themselves.

Emailing you about how much poi cost was on my list of things to do for today. Teledu has a budget so would you like some money from us?

I was hoping you'd ask.

I took a gamble and bought two basic sets for Teledu for a fiver each at the folk festival. At the price, we can probably afford to give them away to anyone who wants them after the workshop.

Those, along with my spares and any that get brought along, should probably be enough.

So, you only owe me a tenner. (I haggeled them down by a quid - grin)

Excellent.

£10 for Poi is now on the budget in the already spent category.
