The Battle Hymn of the Andromedan Republic

kerravonsen just mentioned this filk in her journal when asked about
moments in her life that she'd particularly enjoyed.

I had to laugh. I remember that day well. It was one of the 'Redemption'
conventions http://www.smof.com/redemption and 'Redemption' always has filk
sessions. (The next Redemption is 25-27 Feb '05)


We also always have chaos modelling sessions and this particular year, the
filkers were in the room where the spaceships had been left on the table. A
wonderful collection of ships made from toilet rolls, industrial plastic
offcuts, washing balls, inhalers, plastic cutlery, etc. They looked amazingly
good and were very tempting...

Those of you who remember Blake's 7 may remember the Andromedan invasion in the
episode 'Star One'. The special effects department had to come up with an
entire alien fleet for a single episode. The result was dire! We figured our
assembled fleet looked at least as good, so pausing only to pick up a spaceship
each, we marched as a group down into the hotel concourse singing 'The Battle
Hymn of the Andromedan Republic'.

It was fun!
