having a good Christmas
I wasn't to sure how Grandma and Grandad would fit into our style of family Christmas, but in fact, it's going very well.

exalted_mugwump is playing chess with micavity with the Napoleonic chess set I found (sensibly priced as it's a very nice set) in a charity shop. Grandad is making bugs out of ballons with a kit (also from a charity shop) that was one of his stocking fillers - we have a large sack in the lounge and hand out stocking fillers to everyone present, at intervals throughout the day. Grandma is doing a jigsaw with waveney and I think entorien is reading an Asterix book that auntygillian (who is with her husband's family today) gave Kelvin for Christmas.
Grandma (who normally isn't into games) enjoyed playing Scrabble yesterday, and I found another word game she liked today. Grandad tried a game of Elfenland.
It's been a good two days so far and that bodes well for the rest of the holiday.
I think I shall go and read the rules of the new game that Henry bought me...
