My Granddad used to have to use a nebulizer once or twice a day before an asthma attack finally killed him at about age 75. His lungs were badly damaged by smoke inhalation in WW2 when the lorry he was driving hit a mine and caught fire. A nebulizer is a face mask connected to a little pot that uses compressed air or oxygen to atomise a fine mist of some drug that you breathe in (I can't remember the name of the drug he used).
