Boredom
Tried talking again this morning. Turned out to be a bad idea. The voice had gone by tea time.
I've done all that my shoulder will allow on the computer. It's really too dark outside to do gardening. Reading a book will set off the shoulder. We've got gaming friends round, so watching the TV is out (it's in the living room). The voice is too bad to join in the gaming.
I'm BORED. I guess there's nothing left but Radio 4 - the catch is that I really prefer listening to radio when I'm doing something else physically.

Deep sigh.

I had intermittent neck trouble for years after I tore a muscle in it (long story). It's never recovered 100% but I don't tend to get the 'bad neck days' any more as long as I treat it carefully.
Audio books?
For the boredom what about audio books? There's the hitchhiker stuff, loads of Dr Who, loads of children's stuff - Dahl for instance is great fun to listen to.

Had one for a decade or more. And a lightweight one for when I'm away from home. They allow me to read for about half an hour at a go, but only if the neck isn't too bad already.
Re: Audio books?
I can only listen to them when I'm doing something else like washing dishes. I have that need to be part of the process. My attention drifts if I'm just listening.
