I'm too old for this...

I've got period pains and a flaming period.  It's the first one I've had in well over six months.  I though I was finally free of them.  I was considering giving away my last sanitary supplies - good thing I didn't.

I am reminded of just how much of my life I lost to period pains in the days before I had the mirena coil fitted (it came to an end a couple of years ago and as my periods were few and far between I didn't bother getting another one fitted).

This period is mild in comparison to what I used to have, but it's still a damn nuisance.  The stomach cramps are making it hard to concentrate.

I also had two days of feeling really jittery before the period started - I'd wondered what was making me feel so off-balance. Life is fairly stressful at present, but I knew I was feeling more jittery than was normal for the circumstances.

All I can say is that if there's anyone out there suffering from bad periods, then contraception is your life saver.  Either the Pill or a coil or a jab, whichever you prefer.  Don't suffer when you may not have to.

Meantime, I shall hope this is my last period ever, but I shall hang onto those sanitary towels a little longer...

Oh, no! What a nightmare.

My mirena means I have a show every three months or so - I'm dreading next year when it comes up for replacement, as I suspect that they're going to suggest I don't have a replacement for a while and 'see where we are'.
